LNC aims to be an inclusive and supportive environment, where netballers can continually develop their skills and enjoy being part of a team.
The club has more information for those interested in coaching, umpiring or becoming a team manager, that is available by emailing the leemingnetballcoach@gmail.com or leemingnetballumpire@gmail.com.
Coaching
LNC encourages parents and players to register as coaches. The No previous experience is required, however we work towards supporting coaches to develop their coaching skills, so that our players are also continually developed. All coaches will receive ongoing support and guidance from the LNC Coach and Team Manager Coordinator.
Coaches are appointed by the Coach and Team Manager Coordinator after grading of players has been finalised. Selection of coaches will depend on age of players, expected division/playing level of team, parent volunteers, and club coaches available.
The role of coaches includes:
* Planning training sessions to meet the needs of individuals and players
*Select positions for gameday
*Encourage and support players at training and on gameday
For further coaching information please contact our Coach and Team Manager Coordinator via this email: leemingnetballcoach@gmail.com
Umpiring
For every game that LNC plays in the FNA competition, the Club is required to provide an umpire. As a club, we value the role that umpires play on the court and we are working towards building a pool of qualified young umpires that we can draw on as needed throughout the season.
Young umpires at LNC are mentored while they are gaining the skills and confidence to umpire games. All LNC members are expected to respect our umpiring officials, regardless of their development level, as they build their confidence in this role. We endeavour to provide quality umpires and offer a range of training opportunities for players to develop umpiring skills throughout the season.
Players aged 12 and older (including Seniors) who are interested in umpiring are asked to indicate on their registration form that they are interested in umpiring. This will be noted by the club and you will be contacted to develop a plan for umpiring development throughout the season.
Once umpires have completed appropriate training courses and game day umpiring, they will be eligible to be paid umpires for LNC.
SENIOR UMPIRING (18U and Seniors)
Open and 18Us division players are required to umpire as part of their team commitment. Those who are lacking in umpiring experience are encouraged to attend any umpiring courses recommended by the club. All club umpires are required to wear a white shirt. FNA imposes a fine of $50 for failure to umpire, along with a team penalty of 2 premiership points.
Any queries can be directed to our Umpiring Coordinator via this email leemingnetballumpire@gmail.com
